Self-Care Summer: 5 Tips for Having Fun While Caring for Your Wellbeing
Category: Misc.
Fun and well-being can exist together this summer with these easy tips.

Topic Of Discussion
Summer is a great time to relax, but it’s also a great time to take care of yourself. Chances are good you have a little more time and energy to do it this time of year. And even if you don’t, the season actually lends itself to healthy habits in a lot of ways.
Read on to learn more about the possible links between summer fun and your well-being.
Journal
This time of year it’s light out both earlier and later. So, whether you’re a morning person or a night person, why not use the extra light to jot down some thoughts for the day? Chances are good it’ll clear your mind and reinforce your intentions for the sunny season and beyond.
Swim
Even when days are hottest, swimming is one form of cardio that won’t have you sweating bullets (at least not that you can tell!) Plus, especially on a hot day, swimming is just plain fun. Some local pools offer daily lap swim at low or no cost to city residents. Find a pool near you!
Eat lighter (but brighter!)
If you’re really having a scorcher of a day, even the grill might seem like a sweaty proposition. Why not use the heat as an opportunity to get creative with fruits and vegetables? Before you roll your eyes…the right gazpacho is probably just as good as whatever you planned on grilling and better for you too!
Spend time with (little) loved ones
Whether you’re a parent, an uncle or aunt, or a favorite baby-sitter, chances are good you have some kids in your life who are off school for the summer. Take advantage of the extra time to have some fun together whether at the county fair, camping, or hanging out in your own yard.
Invest in a fun water bottle
The hotter it gets, the more staying hydrated matters. Before you reach for the same old glass you always use, why not find a water bottle that makes you excited to stay refreshed? Your local drug or dollar store likely has some fun options that won’t break the bank, or, if you can, don’t be afraid to splurge a little. After all, you’re using it every day and investing in your health!
